It seems like everyone is a Perez Hilton these days. Hollywood celebrities and your average Jo Schmoe have been revealing their nasty inner secrets ever since celebrity stalking became a full time sport. Now, our very own Bollywood celebrities are taking some time out of their busy lives to communicate with their fans, not to mention cashing in on the free publicity. What’s even more interesting is the carefree and uninhibited way with which these blogs are being written. Amitabh Bachchan’s blog raised quite a few eyebrows with his comments on the media and veteran actor Shatrugan Sinha and now Aamir does it, with his potshots against Shah Rukh Khan. A few months ago at an event in India, Aamir was asked about what he would like to say to Shah Rukh Khan. He replied back candidly, “I would like to ask how it feels to be No. 2”. It caused a mild stir and although Shah Rukh, is no stranger to making potshots himself, many felt Aamir had crossed the line.

In Aamir’s recent post, he talks extensively about his dog named Shah Rukh who “is licking my feet and I am feeding him [Shah Rukh] biscuits every now and then”. He claims to have had nothing to do with naming him; “in fact Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog”. Apparently Shah Rukh (the actor) was shooting for a commercial in Aamir’s house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup and named him Shahrukh”.

Hmm…, it gets better; “What are the chances of me buying a house which comes with a dog called Shah Rukh!!! Some of my friends claim that I bought the house just because of the dog. I would have to be a serious fan of Shah Rukh’s to want to do that. Your guess… Well Shah Rukh is once again begging for my attention, so let me get back to him. He is smelling too much, I think he needs a bath. ‘Heel boy, heel’.”

My guess Aamir, is that you ARE a huge fan of Shah Rukh, the actor. Otherwise why make him the centre of your world? Now even though I’m sure we’d all love to hear about your dog, Aamir, is there any need to talk so extensively about it?

I was beginning to wonder if he was going to start talking about the dog’s bowel movements next! It seems quite clear that there is no love lost between the two Khan’s and I for one am loving the controversy!

It’s not every day that Bollywood celebrities try and recreate their very own version of Gossip Girl! On Amitabh’s blog he says to his readers, “You that criticize me lovingly and not so lovingly. You that get nasty and unethical and sometimes cheap and vulgar.” I do beg to differ! Celebrities are doing a fine job of being nasty, cheap and vulgar themselves, there’s no need to blame it on your readers!
