Beauty is a rare commodity, sought after by those with the most power within the most influential industries, in this case the Indian Film industry…
It’s no secret that some of the most beautiful women in the world hail from India, Aishwarya Rai (Miss World 1994), Sushmita Sen (Miss Universe 1994), Diana Hayden (Miss World 1997), Yukta Mookhey (Miss World 1999), Priyanka Chopra (Miss World 2000), Lara Dutta (Miss Universe 2000)… need I go on??
Life has been tested and proven to be easier for those that are better looking. Not only do these Aphrodite’s have a more, so called wonderful life, but they can make our own lives a little sweeter. If a great looking woman smiles at you on a train on your way to work, you think “aww… she’s nice”, and that could make your day. However, have you ever have a woman who looks like she’s been slapped with an ugly stick smile at you? You may instantly think “oh good god when’s my next stop?”.
One of India’s first and finest exports, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to become India’s highest paid Actress, why? Well lets be honest it’s not because her acting skills are mind blowing, but maybe it’s because she is the pure definition of beauty? She is rumoured to be receiving almost one and a £1.5 million or forty million rupees to be Rajnikant’s leading lady in Shankar’s “Robot”. Such figures may not scare Julia Roberts into feeling threatened from her title as highest paid female actress in the world (she can command around £10 million per film). However this is another new record breaking booty shaking moment, for the global beauty icon, that is Rai.
Now if getting paid for being beautiful is on the rise, then two competing women are fighting for that slice of Indian bread, Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor. All three can be categorised as the same class of actress: all three equally as beautiful. All three completing the same number of movies, and all three being more delicious, than Häagen-Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake with Cookies & Cream spread over freshly baked hot waffles with strawberries on top!
Even though both Kareena and Bipasha came into the industry a few years after Aishwarya, and neither hold any crowns to their names; they are all now competing for the top “crore”. The two have been dominating the screens with more persistence than a door to door Salesman.
It is rumoured that Kareena is billing thirty-five million rupees, but then there’s Bipasha who’s nipping at Kareena’s heels, earning an estimated twenty to thirty million rupees per film.
But when you’re one of the most beautiful women in the world, married to an idol (who happens to be the son of a legend), have a Miss World beauty pageant crown sitting on your head, a decade of movie experience with almost forty successful movies under your belt, and not to mention blazing past your competitors with the amount of cash you can command on set and off set, you can guarantee that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s beauty comes without any beasts.

I think she is married to a beast, she is too good looking for him. she fell for the name not the man.
She looks beautiful and does work hard.
Shame she was not able to properly cross over to Hollywood. Why does the women keep on rejecting Will Smith’s offers to be in block-buster films but says yes to crap like Bride and Prejudice.

ash it tooo beautiful……to be discussed …and people who trying to pull her down are mere jeolous…..she is not at all overrated…she is most elegant and very beautiful…she defines indian beauty a round face…long hair…fish shaped eyes,well defined nose and lips and the curves …indian perfect beauty….she symbolises a figure that u see on monuments and sculptures found in india be it south or north east or west of india….lets be proud of her instesd of getting jealous…..and truly no other indian bollywood actress has all these sharp indian features in one body ….and this body blended with green blue eyes adds sparkle….she is tajmahal …kohinoor of india …she has acted to mark …i dont think others have done anything special …..she is good dancer nimbuda nimbuda…krazzy kiya re….etc and acted to as per role appropriately ..superbly…she is well deserved for what she gets and she deserves more….keep going ASH…U R THE KOHINOOR OF INDIAN BEAUTY

though ash is believed 2 be the highest paid actress since many years she is not worth of the title….there’s no doubt that ash is beautiful but wen comes 2 talent kareena has surpassed ash in acting department..ash is 35 yrs old n kareena is 27 yrs.kareena in her short span of her career has done diverse roles like asoka,chameli,dev,omkara,jab we met,yuva,kabhi khushi kabhie gham…… though her many films flopped she proved herself that acting is in her blood…. ash on the other side has always been part of the huge set films n she has always looked upon as a glam doll…. except devdas n guru,she has nothing done different……..in guru also abhishek took the entire credits………so,i think kareena deserves 2 bag the title of highest paid actress………… ash has had her share for these many years…she was only known for her beauty but not talent….kareena is the winner in acting department………… with films like golmaal returns, main aur mrs.khanna,idiots………..she’s surely 2 memsmerise us with her acting talent as she dis with jab we met….all da best bebo……….

Kareena is a good actress, but not as good as Ash. Ash was amazing in ‘Provoked’ and was let down by the script of ‘Bride and Prejudice’. I hope Kareena looks as good as Ash when she is that age. Did Kareena have plastic surgery?

All three actresses are gorgeous, Ash set an example which is now being followed by up and coming actresses and beauty pageant winners. But don’t forget, it was her beauty that got her this far, not her acting skills, which are great, but not as great as her beauty which is has in abundance!
India will always choose an actress who is prettier then one who can act better, and I’m sure people would much prefer seeing some one who’s as gorgeous as Aishwarya or Bipasha or even Kareena running through the rain in a cheesy singsong scene then a woman who looks more like Amrish Puri in drag!!
Besides, its good competitions for the girls.

Ash is way overated - I met her at premier and yes she was beautiful but i’ve seen better. I prefer the new girl - Deepika in Om Shanti Om!

Deepika looks so much like Ash. Many actresses have made it in Bollywood simply because they look like her. e.g Diya Mirza, Snehal Ullah and I cant think right now about the others.

I think Ash’s beauty got her into the acting field for sure. It was her beauty and elegance that got her the Miss World title and both combined got her many offers in the film industry. However, those offers would not have continued poring in if she wasn’t a good actress. There are lots of beautiful women out there who have also garnished titles and tried to foray into the Indian film industry but I believe that you do have to have something extra special to make it. I’m not saying she’s one of the best but she is a good actress. In my opinion she’s on par with Madhuri when it comes to acting. Madhuri was never really known for her acting either, she was known for her beauty and her dancing ability, much like Aishwarya Rai. I believe that Aishwarya’s beauty actually distracts people from her acting ability and she has to work DESPITE her beauty. Her attractiveness is almost a disability because we so easily dismiss glamorous, beautiful women as being in the industry purely because they’re glamorous and beautiful! I don’t think she’s overrated, her dancing ability is phenomenal. She can do a song like Crazy Kiya Re and a song like Dola Re and pull both off with aplomb.

Saying kareena is on the same level as ash is an insult, in my opinion, to ash. Yes kareena is pretty and yes she has status in the bollywood industry (partially on a pedestal due to the kapoor name I personally believe) But her acting skills are definitely not on par with ash’s. Its ridiculous to even suggest that! Im not saying she’s bad, she has greatly progressed over the years and she’s still on the path of success, however she’s a sizeable distance behind ash on this road and is yet to peak, i feel. Ash has peaked (not in a tragic way), and has maintained her status. She’s achieved alot more than any other actress in bollywood. Choosing the right scripts and keeping a level head will keep her flying high for a long time.

where does Rani stand or even madhuri stand here…
surely those two are better actress and i though madhuri was the highest paying ever and non has been able to reach that.

The grace and style symbolised by this lady is umatched. Other ladies can learn from Rai the ability to achive without compromising basics and conscience.Surviving on the top for fourteen years in this competitive industry says a lot about her ability, courage and talent.No point criticisng her or pulling her down. Rai has achived results. No one can wish away that.

Ahmm like katrina kaif, amrita rao, shreya saran even though i would say that sushmita sen is much better than aish she’s elegant, good spokeswoman, nice personality, awesome figure… n much more. aish is infact overrated…

Aish do a lot of things to achive what she got right now, She absolutely deserved for all the things that she got now, and what the most important about her is the behaviour to be independent. She absolutely not likes other famous actress that got names from movie from Yash Raj production and suck attitude that likes to depend on big male star likes SRK (likes Rani, Preity and Kajol), Aamir Khan or Hritrik for the each succesful movie.The example is Rani, because her behaviour that likes to depend on SRK to do each movie, now she lost her magic touch in bollywood movie because of SRK not interest with her any more. That is not because she is not talented but the reason is SRK want to makes his movie more versatile and interesting . Now, she looks weak and can’t survive in the ways to compete with younger and talented actress at bollywood such as Deepika Padukone. But, all of this different when comes about Aish, she always consistents to looks bigger and bigger in each her movie and tried to improve her acting skills and always doing a different character in each movie. In male leading industry, she makes her stand as the same level with the male big star with her own effort and not to do the same mistakes likes the others famous actress before. This independent women, now makes the big different situation at Bollywood which both big star in each success movie at bollywood will get the same benefits in the their career. Her natural beauty, confident and courage’s to makes differential and her ability to stand at the same level with other male big star make her more succesful and popular than other actress at bollywood. Thats true that many beautiful and talented actress at Bollywood but there only one ‘Rai’ in this world. And thats is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
